Yoga means “yoke” or unite. We practice yoga as we seek to unite body, mind and spirit. We cultivate a connection to ourselves and others. Yoga teaches us that there is no separation we are all one. As we find peace within, we learn ways to share that peace with others.

Yoga is an empowering mind-body practice. It integrates the mind, body and spirit with the goal to cultivate balance, calm, harmony, awareness, and acceptance. We learn to hold space for ourselves and others. Beyond the physical practice, yoga focuses on unwinding, undoing, relaxing, and letting go. Yoga cultivates the flow of “prana” “life force” through the body as we link movement to breath. It becomes a moving meditation – we learn to let go of that which no longer serves us, and create space for new growth.

STUDIO TIPS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Come 10 minutes early to yoga class so you can setup your mat and be prepared to start on time

2. When you are seated on your mat 10 minutes early your body can acclimate to the temperature and you have a chance to quiet your mind. This preparation makes your practice more effective.

3. Leave your cellphone in your car, or silent with your shoes so as to not disturb the class

4. Arriving early also gives you a chance to ask the teacher any questions you may have.

We recommend preregistering for classes. Booking ahead of time with our booking site or app guarantees your spot and allows us to communicate best with you. When you register, you can also fill out the waiver online. Drop-in's and members can just show up to the studio before 5-10 minutes before class. Please allow enough time to get settled, check in, and set up your mat. Please note, special classes, workshops & series do require preregistration.

Be sure to drink plenty of fluids during the day (and everyday!) so that you are well hydrated for class. Avoid eating too much (a big lunch or dinner) an hour or so before practicing yoga. Please arrive 10 minutes early to meet your teacher and get to know the studio. After your first flow yoga class, it is normal to be sore for a day or two. It’s a good idea to return for a second class within a few days. Like any other form of exercise, it is important to rehydrate and replenish the body with water and a healthy meal.

If you have a mat, please bring it with you. There are mats at the studio to borrow or purchase if you do not have one of your own. We suggest bringing a hand towel and a full water bottle.

HI, I'M AMY!

CERTIFICATIONS

I have been teaching yoga since 2015 and love teaching hot yoga, vinyasa, meditation and restorative yoga. I also work with athletes and teams to create sport specific sequences to balance body and mind. I love connecting with others through yoga and meditation as a way to share love and light. I was born in Calgary, Alberta, grew up in Boise, ID and graduated from Brigham Young University. I once ran a marathon, but have no ambitions to do it again, and enjoyed participating in triathlons over the years. I find yoga helps me recover faster so I can train more efficiently.

My husband and I love working and playing with our 3 children. I have a podcast (Amy Tenney Yoga + Meditation) with audio yoga and meditation classes as well as a YouTube Channel. My faith in God is a deep anchor for me. When I’m not doing yoga, I love getting messy in the kitchen creating new recipes. I love sharing my joy of health and healing with others. My favorite place to be is outdoors! I love waterskiing, hiking, exploring new places and foods, and playing family games.

I am a 500 RYT yoga and meditation instructor. Additionally I am a certified Power Yoga for Sports and a Rocket Yoga instructor.
